Home II

Going home the day after my last night in Cardiff... probably not the best idea. I left Cardiff at about 4am I think, so I didn't get to bed until about 5am, and I had to get up at 8am to pack, ready to drive back at 10am. I was doing ok until we stopped to get petrol and suddenly I felt really sick. Don't be alarmed I was ok after 20 minutes and my car stayed clean.

Pretty sure I remember everything but then again I always think that until someone tells me something I said or did which I have no recollection of. I know I drunk half a litre of vodka and then had a double vodka and coke (it was only £1.50) at Metros. Considering how drunk I must of been I think I did pretty well. I danced a lot so I was pretty sober by the time I got home and when I woke up I felt pretty rough but I still managed to pack and get ready.

After the stressful journey I am back in my 2nd home. Only Giulia is here atm but everyone else should be getting back this weekend. I'm excited to see everyone but a bit sad that I have to revise and won't be able to go out. I'm already looking forward to finishing the exams so I have an excuse for a huge piss up. I'm basically blogging so I don't have to revise. Not a good plan but I figure they're probably beyond saving so I might as well give up now.

Hope you're all coping now that I'm gone. Make sure you come visit me lot's. I'll be home in a few weeks to see Adam off so we'll have to hit Cardiff again. It was pretty epic on Wednesday.

That is all :)

Caerphilly

So I han't really blogged much in Exeter but I've been home and I decided to do one for old times sake. It's making me a bit nostalgic actually as it's exactly the same as It was before I left.

I've been home for two weeks now and I've already slipped back into all the old patterns. It was weird at first and it felt like more of a holiday than a visit home but by the time i'd been stuck in the house for a few day I had settled back in. I'm glad I've been going out more since Christmas. It would of felt like a bit of a waste of time if I hadn't made it to a few parties and caught up with everyone. In fact It's forced me to be better than normal. I've seen Anna and Eliot who I hadn't seen for ages before I left for Uni let alone when I was actually there.

I don't really have much to say about the goings on. I could relay them all but if your reading this you were probably there anyway so it would be a bit pointless. Needless to say I had a great time every time I was out. I forgot how much fun our house parties are. True they are not your typical party but that made it better. I can go to party anywhere. And aside from parties it's just been nice hanging out with people I haven't seen for a while. Going to Cardiff has been nice, it's changed so much since I left I feel like a bit of an outsider so I'm glad some poepl stayed behind and can take me around lol.

My only regret is that we didn't go to the pub. It was quite a common occurance before I left and I really enjoyed it. Would of been nice to have a gathering there but ohh well. Tonight we're all going to Cardiff which should be fun. It's going to be weird comparing it to Exeter. Those of you who've been up will know we have pretty stellar night's out, well technically Adam and me didn't make it out of the flat but still... we had fun? Right?

Tomorrow I leave, hopefully not with a hangover. I'm excited to go back and see everyone. I feel more at home in my room in Exeter than I do here now, which is kind of sad I suppose. Only Giulia is home atm so I'll have to wait for everyone else to get back but at least it will give me some time to revise. I'm gonna make more of an effort to keep in touch with people now i've settled in and the excitement has gone. Hopefully more people will come visit cause Exeter is pretty awesome. Sadly I can't have too many people at once, unless Beth is willing to accommodate some. Anyway the point is you're all welcome to come eat my food, drink my alcohol and share my bed, not in a biblical sense obviously(?).

Farewell Caerphilly. I'll see you in a few weeks. It's been a fun visit.

Freshers

As promised here is my blog on freshers. It was a pretty good week but I'm not gonna lie it could of been better. Exeters good for a night out, with this many students it would be hard not to be, but its a lot of small clubs and no big ones. The first week it was just so over saturated it became a bit of a nightmare. I'm used to queuing now, but I'd never queued for a club before I came here.

First night I went out with Beth and her roomies. They were all lovely, very pretty and girly but a little subdued for my liking. They thought me and Beth were hilarious with our "weird" dancing lol. They thought it was cool that we were so hyped and had lots of energy but I'm used to everyone being like that so it was a bit strange.

Luckily for me I have a pretty energetic crazy flat. Gabby being Welsh is like me when shes out and Giulia is just amazing :P. Rebecca is a little difficult cause she runs off and I've only actually been out with her for about an hour despite several attempts. Abi is doesn't come out with us in the evening and of course Syn doesn't speak to any of us lol.

Freshers started out in clubs, We hit Arena, Time Piece, Rococos...

By the end of the week we were getting to drunk off of pre-drink to make it out of the flat. For that reason Mosaic failed and so did the Lemmy. I blame ring of fire ( a lethal drinking game). First night we played I threw up on the table, although I blame Chloe cause I found out the next day she tried to feed me ham and pineapple pizza. I went to bed and when I woke up all my stuff was in the freezer, the bible is still there as a memory to the night lol.

The next night although I was still hung over at 9pm we played again (me with water). This time Rebecca got ridiculously ill. And I mean ridiculous. After hours of hysterics (she thought she was going to die lol), throwing up, crying etc. we finally got her to sleep. We kept checking on her to make sure she was still breathing though because we were genuinely worried lol. My profile picture is me and Chloe with Becca in the middle lol. We all found it pretty hilarious despite the fact she was seriously ill lol. Chloe has a video which I intend to put on Facebook at some point so you should definitely watch that.

That was the last night of freshers. We had a few days off since and watched the inbetweeners and Gavin and Stacey but we've continued to go out. Students in Exeter don't go out on the weekends so if you want to go out it has to be in the week. I mean you fall asleep in lectures but its totally worth it.

My only complaint so far is that all the club nights in Exeter are themed. I thought it was just for freshers but it seems its always like it. I kept having to buy stuff for the traffic light party and the UV party ect. and now I have to worry about a cowgirl outfit and a fairy outfit for the Geography social. It's all very expensive and a lot of effort.

Anyway that me pretty much done. How is everyone else finding the night life in their chose establishment?

ROOMIES

This is my blog to introduce you all to my fantastic roomates.
We are calling ourselves the penthouse flat achos we live on the top floor of Block G and we are the only flat on our floor. It makes us very exclusive as only we come up here but its also a bit of a nightmare making friends with the rest of the block.

So I will do a quick intro on all of them. I'll do a blog on what I actually got up to during freshers some time this weeks as things should settle down and stop being so hectic.

First person I met was Gabby. (on the left)
Gabby is fromWales :D:D:D. Shes a Newport lash so I actually know places that shes knows :). Shes pretty typical welsh. Loud, funny and generally a good laugh. Shes been really nice and friendly and is definitely one of my favorite roomies although I kinda love them all :S, yeah strike that last bit I can't decide on favorites. Shes studying Maths. I know I was shocked too. She had her first lecture today and she said It was really boring. I intend to laugh at her when she has lots of boring maths work to do. Shes a rep for Time Piece on Mondays as well so (this is for Beth benifit) if you want a ticket for monday night she'll hook you up :P.

Next I shall introduce Rebecca. Shes dislikes being called becky so we've settled on Becca and Bex.
Becca is not from Wales :(. But good news ... shes already starting to pick up mine and Gabby's accent. She's is from Brighton so is a pretty long way from home. She is really sweet, she almost seems shy but she's just quiet softly spoken. Being from the valleys this confused me for a while but I got used to it. She's a very amusing drunk ... until she get ill ... It was the wine. I have nickname her Slut for no particular reason. It has worked out well as she seems to be generally concerned that it's true. In reality she was the only really option for Slut of the group. Gabby has a boyfriend and its to about to be me or Giulia or Abi.

Nexe we have Giulia. If you haven't guessed from the name she's Italian.
Giulia is kinda amazing. She's so brave coming over here to study (she's studying History by the way) and her English is amazing. Shes came over here to study for AS then went back to Italy for A2. She literally got 100% in her Italian Exams and Cambridge was her first choice (as it was Rebeccas) but she didn't get in. She's funny and alwasy eager to come out even though clubbing not really her thing. In our kitchen we have a partition with lots of squares and we have dedicate one to Italy so she can feel more at home :D. I'm not sure it really helps but shes been very nice about our poor efforts.

Abi is next. I still don't have her on facebok so your not getting a photo but I promise i'll put one up when I eventually find her. Shes lovely too :). Shes a little quieter than the others in that she doesn't come out with us but I still chat to her all the time in the day in the flat. Shes is studying Bio-Medicinal Chemistry (I think). It's by far the most specialised of our degrees and her course has way less people on it than mine. She's seems very clever and she talks very fast (I've always considered than the sign of a genius).

Syn moved in a few days ago. I've seen her 3 times. She seems nice but keeps herself to herself. She's from Thailand and is studying finance and accountancy. Hopefully I'll get to know her a little better. I'm quite happy for her to stay distant but at the same time I don't want it to be awkward when I see her.

The more observant once of you will of notice that we're an all girls flat. None of us requested it but there seem to be a lot more girls in Exeter. I was a bit gutted at first but now I am really pleased. It hasn't been at all bitchy and its a lot easier to get on with girls and we've all bonded as a group :).

I have to introduce you to Sophie and Chloe as well. They are my Geography buddies. The are both from James Owen Court so we met up to walk to campus together for our first Geography activity. I had already met Sophie as she's friends with Gabby and came and introduced herself on my first day here.

Ar y right

Shopie is from Newport and went to St Jullians with Gabby. I think they were pretty good friends before they came and they still speak and see each other all the time which is nice. She's very welsh which make me happy as I am now basically always in the company of a welsh person. She's really outgoing and keeps going to activities which I have been dragged along to. She even got me to start beginners street dancing and join the dance society. Next week we have our first tap lesson :P. Sophie also has by far the most social block. Block C is crazy and the one time I went over there were about 40 people in one room for pre-drinks. Me and Chloe had to run away and do vodka shots because we felt small and sober lol.

Chloe Fazan (I ad to put her second name in cause it's cool)
Chloe is from London. I find this very exciting even though it technically greater London and she's still about 40 minutes from the centre lol. She has a Londonish accent but I am determined to get her speaking with a welsh one by the end of three years with me and Sophie. She's so funny and I generally just laugh about I don't know what when I'm with her. She has the most amazing facial expressions, particularly when she is attempting to put attitude into her street dancing. I only agree to go street dancing cause I'd been out with Chloe the night before and witness her complete and utter lack of dance skill. It make me feel better to know I'm not the only one embarrassing myself lol. That being said I don't think any good dancers could entertain me as much as she.

I hope that good enough for you. Hopefully you'll all come visit and meet them for yourselves.

Peace.

Nice to know you care. Ohh wait????

Well this blog is basically to shame you all for basically forgetting my birthday. Call me unappreciative but I don't count a happy Birthday on Facebook  as a actually happy birthday. Some of you didn't even bother with that meaning that strangers I've never met made more of an effort that you.

I received one birthday text from Eliot and one from my mum. Aside for that and the one card I got the day before my birthday it seems no one cares that I've turned 19 or that i'm alone in another country with no friends to celebrate my birthday with.

Luckily for me I have amazing room mates who threw me a mini surprise party. The even went out and bought banners and ingredients for vegan cookies. They bought me a bottle of vodka as we'd finished the litre bottle and made me a card. Then as we were all tired from the night before we curled up on the sofa, made vegan pizzas and watched the inbetweeners.

All I can say is thank god they made the effort or it would of been the worst birthday of my life. I'd like to give a particularly bad shout out to Beth who hasn't spoken to me for several days even though she lives 10 minutes away :). And to Adam didn't even bother to tell me he wan't coming up for my birthday until;l I asked him what time he was arriving several hours before he was due to arrive.

Once again thanks. It make me feel so much better and less homesick to know you all care so much.

I'm not in Swansea

Well its 12pm and I am already finished for the day so I thought I'd write a blog. I've only been her one full day but it already feel like weeks. Thats not to say i've settled in because I still miss home (more that I expected to). Exeter is a lovely town. Big beautiful building and great shopping. I'll be honest I'm not really sure what the night lifes like cause although I went out to St Lukes su and Arena on my first night I haven't seen any other clubs or been in any bars.

My room is nice. Its a decent size with loads of storage and I love my en suite :D. I still haven't properly unpacked (which I really need to do as Adam is arriving later) and my room is a tip. I'm started to get sorted now though. I signed up for geography today and 2 girls from my halls are from the same course as me. They are both really nice. Sophie Newport and went to the same school as my welsh room mate Gabby. After I signed up for all my modules which was quite distressing as we realised they were only worth 15 resits each instead of 30. I am now doing 7 modules. 3 Human which I have to do and I signed up for the 3 Physical as well because I had no idea what other subject to do lol. It cool though cause I like physical, just not so sure on the geography of SW England (sounds pretty boring :|). At least Sophie will be in all the same classes as me :). Lucy will be in most of them buts she's doing Geography with European Studies so she has to do a language module in French.

I want to do a video tour of my room and kitchen and stuff so I will get that up when I have unpacked and I can safely walk across my room without risking death :P. I'll also do a blog on my roomies at some point but I'm not friends with them all on FB yet so I have no pictures. I'll tell Beth to do a blog also. I went out with her room mate on the first night and they are really nice. They think we are crazy which I suppose is to be expected. I feel bad because I promised Beth I wouldn't make them think she was weird but I think I did it on accident lol. It's cool though cause it was a good weird. They couldn't believe how much energy we had. It seems like people here are a lot more timid on a night out. They seem far to preoccupied with looking cool and not humiliating themselves in public. FOOLS.

Hope everyone is doing well. Regular updates please :). Once I've settled in I'll probably start blogging regularly again :). I've got nothing tomorrow but I have a few things on Thursday. I'll keep you all informed :). Keep a look out for a blog on my team building exercise next week (I have a feeling it will be eventful).

Ciao for now Bitches
